He is a pioneer in the field of Agile Business Management and is a senior IT executive and business management consultant in both the public and private sector across Australia and South East Asia. The Agile India Team interviewed Evan to understand the focus of the Business Agility day and why it is important in the current Business scenario. Here are some of the insights he shared with us.
What is Business Agility in your opinion?
Business Agility is the ability of an enterprise to respond to change faster than the rate of that change, resulting in high customer satisfaction and profitability in a turbulent business environment.
To achieve this, organizations need to re-think and change many aspects of how they work, how they relate to their customers, how they innovate, how they build business strategies, how they make use of their financial resources, where they fit in their communities and how they engage their people.
Why is this theme so important in our current context?
In today’s economy, business agility is not only imperative for the survival of organizations but the only way for organizations to thrive in an unpredictable market. We’ve moved past the days of agile software – while it’s still important this is not where the constraint to agility exists. We can invest in our Scrum or SAFe transformation as much as we like but if we don’t consider the organizational context we will reach diminishing returns on our investment very quickly.
What are some key highlights of the Business Agility day?
At Agile India’s Business Agility Day, we have selected sessions to explore the various factors that are necessary when whole enterprises become agile in the true sense of the word.
